The transition from the 19th to the 20th century involved a change in the European landscape. It was a period of confidence in progress, when bourgeoisie enriched by industry and trade turned to art and elegance.

Paris was the great symbol of this new era: it was the birthplace of Art Nouveau, of the sinuous forms and the colour that took over buildings, furniture and decorative objects. But Paris was above all the capital of perfume.

The great glass artists placed their talent at the service of smells. Each bottle has a history behind it, stemming from the fantasy and inspiration ofthe master glassmaker. The artists gave form to the smells. They made bottles for them that were as valuable and unique as the very essences theycontained.
